Hi there, I'm studying underwater archaeology at Nottingham University and just wanted to know some opinions from divers and enthusiasts. What do you think of the commercial exploitation of historic shipwrecks?

Hi Theresa;
     I think that underwater archaeology should be left to the study of pre-excisting of life that was once in our existence. I myself enjoy archaeology, and find it very fasinating. But I believe that exploring an 18th century shipwreck is not related archaeology or is commercial exploitation of historic shipwrecks? A ship that went down in the 18th century is mostly at best filled with imported or exported goods of that time. At times the cargo will have gold or, and silver with it. We know this because of records. What does an archaeologist need to know. We pretty much know what thier diets were and so on. I have to go for, but feel free to respond.
Thank you
Dan
