Hi, anybody dive the U 853? I've got 2 sets of Lat. Longs and would like to narrow it down a little. I've also heard they have balls attached to the wreck and alot of ghost lines once your down on it. Is this info correct? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike |

contact Atlantis Dive charters from New London, or Priority Fishing Charters from Narragansett RI. Both do dive charters to the wreck. I've dove off both boats. I've dove the wreck three times with two complete penetrations from forward torpedo room back to the aft blast hole. Great dive! Don't penetrate unless trained to do so. Deck is about 110', sand at the stern is about 128'. Best vis I've seen is about 30' worst was about 10'. you'll need good lights. |

I also meant to say that there are two balls on the wreck, one on the coning tower and one on the bow. There is a ghost line back at the stern on the old gun mount(or near it). I don't have coords. Good luck. |
