Submarinne Nets in Newport, RI WWII - Wreckhunter Message Board

I know that during WWII that the NAVY has laid subnets accross Newport (RI) at two different locations, I believe they were installed in 1942 but I'm not sure when they were taking down 1944/1945?

I am also curious if anyone has heard of any Uboats being caught in one of them?

I am an engineer with 43 years experience, 20 of which were in shock analysis
of Nuclear Subs.
